We're excited to announce the BVPO will host a Celebración de Otoño on Friday, September 25th, 4-7pm at University Fellowship Church (just down the street from Buena Vista). It’ll be a great event for the entire school community! There will be food trucks, community organizations, arts & crafts, and entertainment featuring live music and dancers.
Food Drive: Help us fill our school Food Pantry! please consider bringing Shelf-Stable Items: Canned meats, fish, beans, vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, rice and prepackaged snack items.

Tuesday, Sept. 8th 3:00-4:00: Meet Your Teacher & Popsicles on the Playground! Come meet your teacher, see your classroom, and get ready for a great school year! If you’d like to lighten the load for the first day of school, Meet Your Teacher is a great opportunity to bring your child’s school supplies and drop them off in their classroom. It helps our teachers have time to put everything away advance of the first day of school. After you’ve had a chance to say hello to your teacher and check out your classroom, head out to the playground! BVPO will be providing popsicles, and families can visit with one another while students explore the playground and get reacquainted with their favorite playground equipment. And while you’re there, be sure to come say hello to Principal Jen

Mark your calendars for Friday, Sept. 20th where the BVPO will host our first school community cultural event of the year! An event you and your family won't want to miss. It's a free event - we are collecting cans for the BV food pantry so please bring some cans to fill the pantry. Otherwise, come enjoy the evening. We'll have special guest performers.
We will also have a handful of savory food trucks! We will have lots for the kids to do - arts & crafts, Fall festival style games and community organizations to learn about different opportunities here in the community!
We are looking for parent / guardian volunteers to help pull off this event - last year we had nearly 600+ people in attendance. We need your help to pull off a great community event!! Volunteer information available here!

Gather your BV friends and family, grab your roller skates or blades and join us for an ALL AGES and FREE Buena Vista Skate Party on Sunday, June 4th from 3-4:30pm at Bob Keefer Center (250 S 32nd St, Springfield, OR 97478)

With games, dancing, rocking, rolling and prizes, you’re not going to want to miss this fun time with
fellow BV families.
Advanced registration required. This is a free event to all Buena Vista families and staff.
We will have a welcomed suggested donation of hygiene and household products collected at the
door the day of the event to support the BV pantry (toothbrush/paste, tampons/pads,
shampoo/conditioner, soap, TP/paper towels/tissues/napkins, deodorant, laundry detergent, sunscreen,
dish soap etc.)
The money raised from the Jog-a-thon will provide field trips, special assemblies, artists in residence, and so much more! The Jaguar Jog-a-thon also encourages activity and a community spirit at BV.
The Jog-a-Thon is a school day event, where students will walk, jog, or run laps around the Sheldon High School track with their classmates for 20 minutes. Prior to the event, students seek out per-lap pledges or flat-amount donations. When students, classes, and the school as a whole hit fundraising goals, they earn prizes and rewards! Donations raised at this event will help fund annual teacher supply budgets, educational enrichment activities, PE equipment and special school events.
Please help by sponsoring this student. You may make a lump sum donation or a pledge by number of laps (each lap is approx. 1/4 of a mile). Kids will run for 20 minutes. We predict a 4 - lap average for most kids; there is no limit on the number of laps. Don’t forget the online donation option below!
Money must be turned in on or before May 23rd, 2023. By returning this envelope, no matter the amount of money collected, the student will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win one of the many exciting prizes.

Buena Vista Parent Organization presents La Velada
Saturday, April 22, 2023 Parent/Guardian Night Out 5-9pm at The Pub at Laurelwood. A night of food, drinks, entertainment with a chance to connect with other BV parents/guardians.

BVPO, together with the Science Program to Inspire Creativity and Excellence (SPICE), will be hosting a Family STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Night on Friday April 14th on the campus of the University of Oregon. Hands-on science activities and demonstrations will include the Egg Drop, the Flubber Factory, and much more! Please click on the link below to register.
