OUR WORK

The BVPO is an Organization which relies upon Parent Volunteers each day helping out in the classrooms, organizing programs and events, and serving as Board and Committee Chair Members. If you are interested in joining the BVPO Board please contact us or inquire for more information at the school office.

The primary role of the BVPO is to:

• Provide a forum for parents and other community members to discuss issues which concern education and the School’s relationship to the community

• Provide an opportunity for parents and other members of the community to actively participate in the student’s educational process at the School

• Sponsor and plan activities which generate revenue to further the goals of the School and the community

While the BVPO sponsors the main school fundraising events for Buena Vista, it also organizes social events.

Cultural Development

Buena Vista is proud to support the parents of our school in knowing about various cultural enrichment opportunities taking place in both our local community and beyond.

Baile Folklorico ProGram

BVPO is proud to support our school's Baile Folklórico program, which was introduced during the 2025–2026 school year. This program gives students the opportunity to explore and celebrate Mexican culture through traditional music, dance, and performance.

Through our support, we help provide opportunities and resources that allow students to participate, learn, build confidence, and share their talents with our local community. We are excited to continue supporting the growth of this program and celebrating the cultural richness it brings to our school. This program is Free to all students K-5th Grade at Buena Vista. During the school year students practice once a week.

Artist Residencies

We've had some wonderful artists come and share their talents and inspire a more beautiful world.

FOOD DRIVES

As a school family, we do our best to help provide a little extra food assistance over the long breaks in the school year. Our school Food Pantry accepts donations grocery gift cards and Shelf-Stable Items: Canned meats, fish, beans, vegetables, peanut butter, pasta, rice and prepackaged snack items. Volunteers are needed to help pack food boxes prior to long weekends. Contact: Jess Versage jess@bvpo.org if you are interested in making a large donation or volunteering your time.
