Finance Committee

The Finance Committee provides financial analysis, advice, and oversight of the BVPO’s budget, financial management, and record keeping. The Finance Committee ensures the BVPO has the resources and sound financial practices needed to fulfill our mission.

School Partnership

  • School Affairs Subcommittee

The School Affairs Committee manages school staff, administration, and teacher appreciation. The School Affairs Committee also supports emerging needs from families that are identified by the School or BVPO Community. The School Affairs Committee also coordinates BVPO’s involvement in onsite activities such as the library, OBOB, and the Book Fair.

  • Amity Subcommittee

The Amity Committee facilitates the School’s participation in the Amity Program, supporting the School, Interns, and Host Families in accordance with the requirements of the Amity Program. It is not recommended that members of the committee host an intern during the same year as serving on the committee.

  • Cultural Development Subcommittee

The Cultural Development Committee supports a thriving, multicultural BVPO and School environment through planning, producing cultural enrichment activities and special events, and linking the School’s community with cultural activities in the broader Eugene area.

Parent/Guardian Engagement

  • Fundraising Subcommittee

The Fundraising Committee raises funds to ensure the financial viability and stability of the BVPO through event-based, individual, corporate, and foundation fundraising, along with developing and implementing strategies for earned income and pledge-based fundraising. Key activities include the planning and production of events like Subasta and La Velada.

  • Volunteer Administration Subcommittee

The Volunteer Administration supports the BVPO and the school through coordinating efforts of volunteers with the needs and activities of the organization and the School (as requested by the Principal). The Volunteer Administration Committee manages, recruits, retains, and appreciates volunteers and grade-level representatives.

  • Communications Subcommittee

The Communications Committee leads ongoing, strategic, and crisis communications, public relations, and promoting visibility of BVPO, ensuring messaging and materials are culturally responsive, relevant, and bilingual. The Communications Committee partners with the School to communicate information to the BVPO community as needed.

Advocacy Committee

The Advocacy Committee works to shape public policies and resources that affect the School and a thriving community around it. The Advocacy Committee Chair attends the 4J School Board Meetings and two members represent BVPO on the Site Council.
